In March of 2013, CNN’s ‘Fortune Magazine’ featured Charlotte as one of the nation’s top 5 hotspots for flourishing technical innovation and employment opportunities.
According to the article, the Queen City’s technical industry is rapidly gaining traction. Charlotte landed the number 2 spot in the lineup, falling behind St. Louis and ahead of Austin, Phoenix and Detroit.
The article reported that, since March of 2012, there has been a 22% increase in technical prioritization within Charlotte’s business industry. In addition to this impressive growth, the state of North Carolina has seen a 6% increase within the technical workforce since 2012.
Because of its booming oil, gas and energy industries, the Queen City is expected to experience continual growth in the creating of technical and engineering related jobs.
